ATTORNEY PROFILE
Bryant McConkie
Bryant McConkie’s practice focuses on family law and divorce. His experience and education led him to family law and influence his approach to solving problems and working through issues.
Bryant began his collegiate studies at the University of Utah where he graduated in psychology in 1998. He then continued his study of human behavior at the University of Hartford in Connecticut where he received a MS in Organizational Behavior. While studying organizational behavior, Bryant focused his studies on how people get into (and out of) conflict. He then obtained his law degree at Hamline School of Law (now known as Mitchell Hamline) in St. Paul, Minnesota. At Hamline, Bryant studied how methods of alternative dispute resolution can be used effectively in legal disputes.
Bryant is a skilled negotiator, litigator, and trial advocate, but he also works hard to help clients make educated and wise decisions as they determine whether it is in their best interest to participate in a trial. Bryant understands the unique dynamic of conflict in family disputes, and is prepared and willing, when necessary, to take cases to trial.
Bryant is committed to the development and improvement of family law and founded the Utah Journal of Family Law in 2010 and he is also a member of the Utah State Bar’s Family Law Executive Committee. He has served on the committee since approximately 2011 and served as Chair during the 2020-2021 term.
Bryant maintains an AV Preeminent (4.8) rating with Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating awarded to attorneys for professional competence and ethics. He has been selected for inclusion in Mountain States Super Lawyers many times throughout his practice in the category of Family Law and has been voted by his peers throughout the state as one of Utah’s “Legal Elite,” as published in Utah Business Magazine. In 2015, Bryant was appointed by the Utah Supreme Court to serve on the Utah State Bar Ethics and Discipline Committee where he served for six (6) years.
Before starting McConkie, Hales & Jones in 2019, Bryant was a partner/shareholder at Ray, Quinney & Nebeker. Bryant is married and is a father of four (4) girls. In Bryant’s spare time he likes to play squash, ski, Onewheel, mountain bike, and hang out in the Ogden Valley.
